instant weight “loss”

given: "height" is a determining factor for appearance (in relation to weight). ..that's why b.m.i. (body mass index) has a height coefficient..wha???

since nobody is going to pick us up and carry us around the house (anytime soon), 
we can admit that the idea of "weight loss" is more about appearance than weight.  
in this post, we are going to address the idea of "appearance" using pounds per inch (ppi).  
that's the number of pounds that we weigh, per inch of height.   

most humans, over time, lose height because we “slump” into a less efficient standing and/or seated posture.  let’s assume that a 5’8” (198 pounds) individual has “slumped” into a 5’6” stature.

5’6”, 198 lbs = 3lbs per inch (ppi)

let’s say that with a slight posture change and some yoga, to facilitate more of a postural change, the 5’6” person now stands at 5’8”.

the math:
68 into 198 = 2.91 pounds per inch. 

this means that the "new" 68-in frame stands .09 fewer ppi.

since 68 x 0.09 = 6.8 lbs, this (same) person will appear to be 6.1 pounds thinner. 

we can 'lose' over 5 pounds of 'apparent' weight, 
by standing up straight! :)
