the trip up to the queenstown skyline

about two blocks from southern laughter is the gondola, which takes you up to the queenstown skyline. ..you can ride (for a small fee, 10 minutes), or you can hike/climb (free, 45 minutes).
.
care to guess?
.
below: the walk toward the gondola (it goes up that hill). ..the white speck at the top of the hill is a paraglider.
.
note: paragliders run off of the side of a cliff with nothing but a parachute, and then they glide down to a designated landing area. ..i was lucky enough to do this (tandem) back in 2004, in rio de janiero, brazil. ..of any 1-person sport/activity, paragliding would probably be my favorite (think about it -- your parachute is much more transportable than an ultralight or a hang glider).
.
however, i've always favored activities that you can share with another person or persons. ..let's play!
.

anyway, back to the skyline post...
.
below: you are right, again. ..i opted for the climb, in favor of the gondola ride. ..as you can see, below, the climb has "a bit of a drop off" in places. ..in the picture on the right, people were actually helping each other traverse the "steeps."
.
.

. . . .

next post: "skyline view" .

Yesterday's weather was perfect for it.
