apple, tree, fall, BOOM!

when he was little, my nephew (nicholas) uttered the title of this post.
.
translation: "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
.
that describes joal martino (directly descended from jo femino and al martineau). .

.
apple-tree-fall-BOOM!
.
anyway...
.
the pictures depict a coconut palm tree, its fruit (the coconut), and the recycling of dying fruit into sprout, which will become future tree, bearing future fruit.
.
"tree-fruit-death-seed-tree" is a beautiful metaphor that depicts the human-Spiritual condition..
.
if you try to pick up this coconut (on honeymoon beach, naviti, fiji), you will find that it will not budge. ..the coconut is already rooted into its new (temporary) home.
.
.
another metaphor that is equally compelling is the caterpillar-to-butterfly process.
.
as we walk (and crawl) through life's more difficult times (here), let us re-Memeber that an inevitable trans-form-at-i-on into butterfly-ness awaits, only a few short cosmic nanoseconds from Now.
.
Italic
the cool thing is this: there is no earthly way that the caterpillar can ever conceive of the exponential freedom that will occur as s/he (quote) "dies."
.Italicdo you remember how george malley (played by john travolta in "phenomenon") uses an apple to describe the same process? ..george (speaking to al, played by david gallagher) says something like "every thing... is on its way."

.

when "death" can be perceived as "a doorway"** -- and when we trust that the next room will be brilliant -- life's challenges become a lot easier to handle.
.
here's to your Inner Butterfly.

Lenny

** (master po, to "grasshopper" [kwai chang kane]): "life is a corridor... and death is but a door, leading to yet, another life."
.
below: a photo of a young nick, with his young and beautiful sister, julia. ..nick & julie dunn are children of mike and janet dunn, and mike is the child of clare & jerry dunn, and clare is the child of al & jo martineau.
