the right to vote

it's great to be a citizen in a country where your vote (almost always) counts. ooookay, there's that electoral college thing, but...
.
beth, kim, susan and i voted (absentee) today at the u.s. embassy (chaing mai).
.
for the first time in decades, i feel as though all of the candidates have some good qualities. for president, i decided to go with the team who would most be able to communicate Oneness, Unity, Cooperation, Peace, etc. in a chaotic world.
.
hint: it wasn't a third-party candidate this time around.
.
...aaaaanyway...
.
the person who becomes president is going to have to steer the ship when the waters are very, very rough, as we pay for the malpractices of those who've made questionable decisions over the past several years. hopefully, the winner will have some charisma, and the ability to bring people together (as opposed to focusing on differences).
.

anyway, 2... since it was raining intermittently, i wore a cheap parka that was purchased years ago at a florida state university football game.
.
then, the obvious happened. think about it: you're voting for the u.s. presidency in chaing mai, thailand, you break out your seminole parka, and you immediately run into (you guessed it) a gator!
.
there we were: opposite colors, opposite teams, and probably opposite votes (didn't ask), but we agreed that we'd like the campaign process a lot more if candidates could learn to be nicer to each other.
.
if only democrats and republicans could learn that both sides Play for the Same Team.
. .
.
.

.

.
..
.

by the way... if you happen to be a third-party, independent type... check this out:
.
1. go to the wellnesseducation.us main page,
2. click on "poem of the day,"
3. click on "october,"
4. then click on "17 october 2004: a vote for nader."

Go RAYS! Do you know they are in the world series?

  2. Last night, we ventured over to an Irish Pub (of all things) and the Rays were playing somebody other than the Red Sox, so I deduced that they are in the World Series.
    .
I was with a group, and was trying not to pay attention to the game, but I did see one of the Rays hit a home run, and the croud seemed to be going wild.
    .
    Was the game in Tampa?

  3. Yes it is now 1 game to 1 game and Rocco Baldeli played. It is very exciting here in Tampa Bay. Now it is going to Philedelphia for 3 games. They play Saturday night.

  4. Go Rocco and Tampa Bay!
    .
Judy, I'm sure I've related this, but Rocco's dad (Rocky Baldelli) was my fraternity brother back at the University of Rhode Island.
    .
I met Rocco when he was a baby, and Rocky taught Rocco how to hit by setting-up a batting cage in the cellar (I think).
    .
Is that how they tell his story in Tampa?
    .
Note: Rocky Baldelli, where are you these days?
