oh, krap

imagine this: you are jogging in chaing mai, and your ego begins to feel like superman (egos LOVE superman/underdog themes).
.
but, all of a sudden, you jog into a smaller part of the city where you can actually say "hi" to people, and...
.
...26 people in a row look at you (some smiling, some not) and say "krap."
.
imagine jogging down the road and hearing "krap" -- "kraaaap" -- "Krap!" -- "krap" -- "krrrraap" ...over and over and over again.
.
it certainly puts you back in your place.

actually, "ka" (pronounced "krraaap") can be loosely translated as "hey," or "yes," or "w' sup, dude?" -- so people aren't actually calling you the phonetic, u.s. version of the word.
.
...or maybe they do know americaneze, and they are telling it like it is.
.
learning point: shave & shower before jogging.
