"go ahead, make my day"

when you are on a trip like this, it's a double-edged sword.
.
one one hand, when you travel alone, you are forced to get out of your comfort zone and meet people who you may never have met, had you been traveling with a girlfriend or a running-buddy. you expose yourself to situations where you see, smell, taste, hear and touch new, strange, beautiful things.
.
on the other hand, while you are experiencing these beautiful things, you think "i only wish that i had someone here to share it with."
.
silly as it seems, this blog has allowed me to feel as if i'm sharing cool things with all of you.
.
here's what i've found:
.
no matter what i experience each day, no matter how beautiful, no matter how new, no matter how outrageous... ...the Truly Best moments of my day come when i get a blog comment or an e-mail from you (the best family/friends that a person could ever hope for).
.
some of your comments and e-mails have made me laugh out loud, and some have literally brought tears to my eyes, as this one is doing right now.
.
and that's what makes my day!

The cool thing is we get to enjoy your trip of a life time with you from our very own homes. We are there with you and your point of view.It is better than any novel or Presidential debate. Thanks for allowing us to share in your cultural enrichment. Someday we will enjoy a vacation at the same time and place. Until then, we will be there in spirit and through your blogs.
